Q: What is the weather like in Japan in August?

A: Very hot and humid (30–35°C / 86–95°F).

Wear light clothing. Stay hydrated and use sun protection.

Indoor spaces are air-conditioned, so bring a light layer.

Q: Is Wi-Fi available? Can I get SIM or pocket Wi-Fi at the airport?

A: Free Wi-Fi is available at airports, hotels, and cafes.

SIM cards and pocket Wi-Fi are available at airports (reservation available).

 

Q: What transportation methods do you recommend? What apps are recommended for getting around?
A: Trains, buses, and taxis are convenient and reliable.

If you plan to drive a rental car yourself, we recommend the following navigation app:

  • Google Maps
    Note: An International Driving Permit is generally required for driving.

If you plan to use taxis, we recommend these ride-hailing apps:

  • Uber (reliable English support)

  • GO (large fleet and wide service area)
    Note: You can also catch a taxi without a reservation at stations or in front of hotels.
    Note: Taxi doors usually open and close automatically, so please do not operate them yourself.

 

Q: Can I use credit cards? What payment methods are convenient?
A: Credit cards are accepted at many places, but some shops still accept cash only.
It is recommended to carry a small amount of cash.
Transportation IC cards (such as Suica) and QR code payments are also convenient.

 

Q: How can I purchase a Suica card?
A: You can purchase one at ticket machines in train stations.
A deposit (500 yen) plus a charge is required to use it.

You can also use it on your smartphone (e.g., via Apple Pay).
It can be used on trains, buses, and at convenience stores.

Q: Do I need a visa to visit Japan?
A: Visa requirements vary depending on your nationality, purpose of visit, and length of stay. For the most up-to-date information, please contact the Japanese embassy or consulate in your country directly.

Q: How long must my passport be valid when visiting Japan?
A: In principle, as long as your passport is valid for the duration of your stay in Japan, there should be no issue.
However, some airlines or transit countries may require at least six months of validity remaining, so we recommend checking in advance.

Hotel FAQ

 

Q: Do you have any recommended hotels? Is there a list of accommodations near the venue?
A: We will soon upload a list of hotels near Marquee Hall and other conveniently located hotels in Tokyo.

Q: What are the check-in and check-out times?
A: Check-in is usually after 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 10:00 AM or 11:00 AM. For early check-in or late check-out, please contact the hotel front desk directly.

Q: Do I need to present my passport?
A: Yes. Under Japanese law, all international guests are required to present their passport when checking in.

Q: Is Wi-Fi available?
A: In most cases, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. The SSID and password will be provided in your room or at the front desk.

Q: What amenities are provided?
A: Typically, towels, toothbrushes, shampoo, and body soap are provided. Please check with your hotel for details.

Q: How do I use public baths or hot springs?
A:

  • Please do not wear swimsuits.

  • Wash your body before entering the bath.

  • Many facilities do not allow guests with tattoos.

 

Q: Can I use a credit card?
A: Most hotels accept credit cards, but smaller establishments may only accept cash.

Q: Can I exchange currency?
A: Some hotels may offer currency exchange at the front desk, but we recommend using nearby banks or ATMs.

Q: Are vegetarian or vegan options available? Can you accommodate allergies?
A: Some hotels may be able to accommodate these requests. Please contact your hotel directly in advance.

Q: Do I need to separate my trash?
A: Waste separation is important in Japan, but some hotels may not require it. Please follow the instructions provided in your room.

Q: Is tipping required?
A: No, tipping is not customary in Japan.

Q: What should I do in case of an emergency?
A: Please contact the front desk. Emergency numbers in Japan are 110 (police) and 119 (fire/ambulance).

Q: What type of power outlets are used?
A: Japan uses Type A outlets (100V).

 

Q: Is smoking allowed?
A: Smoking is only permitted in designated areas. Guest rooms are generally non-smoking.
